Each set tile shows what a pack is worth against the cards you are still missing, what it is worth raw, and how often a pack holds something you are looking for. Best value right now: Fabled at $8.51 a pack.
How the pack numbers are worked out
A booster is 12 cards — 6 Common, 3 Uncommon, 2 Rare-or-better and 1 foil that can be any rarity — so the chance of pulling a particular card depends on its rarity, not on how big the set is. Every figure below follows from those per-slot odds.
Value to you is the break-even pack price. Multiply each card's chance by its TCGplayer price, counting only the cards you are still missing — a duplicate of something you have finished does nothing for the collection, whatever it is worth. Pay less than this per pack and packs are the cheaper way to fill your gaps; pay more and you are better off buying the singles outright. Raw value is the same sum without that condition: everything in the pack, needed or not, which is the number that matters if you will sell the rest.
The hit rate is a different question — how often a pack holds enough of what you need to be worth opening. It totals the cards you are still missing in a pack and asks how often that total clears the bar, so several small cards you need add up rather than being thrown away one at a time. Worth reading next to the value, because the value is an average and can be carried almost entirely by one expensive card you will hardly ever pull: a set can look rich per pack and still disappoint most packs.
The slot layout is official — Ravensburger states it on their product pages. The pull rates are not: they have never published a per-rarity rate for any rarity in any set, so the odds here come from the largest published pack-by-pack tabulations (about 1,600 packs across sets 1–5, another 1,600 for Fabled, and a smaller sample for the two newest sets). Sets 9+ use their own table, since Fabled added Epic and Iconic to the foil slot. Override any of it with packOdds in config.json.
Iconic cards are left out entirely. Nobody has published a single confirmed Iconic pull, so any rate for them is a guess spanning a 15-fold range. Rather than quote it, Iconics show "pull rate unknown" and contribute nothing to any figure here — a $2,000 card multiplied by an invented number was driving a fifth of the raw value of the newest sets. Every figure is therefore a slight underestimate, which is the safer way to be wrong about whether to spend money.
One more caveat: raw value counts bulk Commons at market price, which overstates what you could really sell a pack for. Prices move; these are averages, and a single pack is mostly variance.
